Party Animal

Good Morning! It's been a while, how is everyone?
Today my post was inspired by
Rebeccalikesnails. She did a Christmas theme animal print. Her animal of choice? Zebra. After I seen it, I thought hers was so cute and, I HAD to try it!

Here's how mine turned out:

What do you think?

Here is how I did it:
1. Painted my nails white.
*Sally hansen - White on*
2. Topped that with a nice layer of
*Poshe fast drying TC*
This step is important, I did this to keep the red and green from becoming lightened by the white.
3. Painted on all of my red zebra stripes. I used
*Sally hansen- Red carpet* .
4 Painted on the green stripes. I used *China Glaze- Mistletoe kisses* .
5 Topped it all off with another thick layer of Poshe.

What do you think?

Please Read

Hi girls! Sorry I've been MIA, I've been having A LOT of personal problems so I haven't been able to post as often as I would like to. I appreciate you all more than you will ever know, for being faithful followers though! Unfortunately, with that being said, I will not be doing a giveaway or daily posting until my life is less hectic. Buuttt, when I have time to post, I will. Here is one of my most recent manis.

I used
China Glaze - hologram
OPI- I'm not really a waitress, to stamp
Finger paints- Black expressionism, to stamp

There's a closer look at the stamping.

Thanks for reading! I hope to see you all soon! And if you pray, keep me in your prayers.

A gray kind of day

Hello beauties of mine!
Today is cleaning day at my house. Blahh, I know, exactly. So, I'm not very excited about sweeping and mopping and dusting and whatnot.... So, today, I decided to use a gray polish. I don't own many gray polishes because I don't think it looks right with my skin tone.
The gray I have chosen for today is China glaze pelican gray.
It is a light gray with a touch of gray shimmer, beautiful in the Sun. I was trying to decide what I was going to do to make it look better on my skin so, I found myself trying to decide between wet n wild Hannah Pinktana which is more purple than pink with lots of micro holo glitter, its so pretty and OPI I lily love you, is a hot pink jelly base with lots of flakie-ness to it. And I couldn't decide which one so, I chose both! Ha ha. Here they are:

Now, I'm off to clean!
You all have a great day! Thank you for reading!

Snake skin,my way

Hello beautiful ladies of the world. :) How is everyone doing today? I'm in a pretty good mood because, I found out that I'm going to the shooting range this weekend! Yay! I know....real country huh? Ha ha. This will be my first time shooting my gun since the mister purchased it for me. Which was in March I believe. Anywho..... I don't know if anyone has noticed but, I have acrylic fake nails. Well, I had acrylic fake nails, I took them off last night so I could use my new nail envy that I received from Jen Miller who is in the fb group face and friends with me.

See, they look gross. I has acrylic nails because my nails always peel, split and bend. I have very very weak nails. I have been taking Biotin (3tablets daily) for about a week and I hope these, along with nail envy strengthen them. My natural nails were as long as my acrylic nails and I had to cut them down. So, here are my naked nubbins. :(

On to nail art, I've been seeing the snake skin mani a lot lately and I received my bundlemonster image plates over the weekend and just had to try this mani for myself. :)
Here is my version; I used ;
China Glaze- Digital dawn (tronica)
China Glaze- Mega Bite (tronica)
OPI- You don't know Jacques (base coat)
Seche Vite Dry fast top coat
Image plate- Bm215

I tried to do kind of like mixture of color for the diamond shape.

You can kind of see the color difference but not a lot. It looks pretty cool in person and it was so easy to do! Have you tried this mani yet?

Enamorandome de ti.

Today, my total is "Enamorandome de ti" which translates to "falling in love with you". Why? Because I'm falling in love with these polishes, I used:
Zoya- Valerie
OPI- You don't know Jacques(accent nail)
China glaze - sex on the beach (layered over you don't know Jacques)
Hard Candy- Matte-ly in love. (Accent nail)

Inside

Outside.

Outside.

First of all, I would have never purchased either the Zoya or the OPI if I had seen them in person.. I purchased Valerie from a blog sale, it was buy 2 get one for free and I chose this Zoya as the free one. I didn't like it but, I thought ehh...I can always sell it. You don't know Jacques was purchased from evilbay, I accidentaly placed an order for it then emailed the seller and told him that I wanted to cancel my order....he sent it anyway. I received it yesterday and I despised it. I thought, who would want this ugly brown and now, what am I going to do with it? So, I emailed the seller, again and told him that I did not want it and what I should do with it... He hasn't wrote me back so, I decided to do an accent nail with it. I thought it would look different out if the bottle. NO! I still hated it. So, I went through all of my polishes to see what I could paint over it because I felt too lazy to remove it. That's when I remembered that I had found this China glaze when I found while I was dusty hunting. It is a very old bottle. I googled its name apparently, there are 2 sex on the beaches that China glaze has made. The other one is a pinkish color. Mine is this color and has this label.

Mine.

Here is the pink Sex on the beach.

Do you see a difference or am I just crazy?

Anyways, if you know anything about this polish, I would like to know more about it. What year it was released? Any information would be helpful. Thank you in advance. :)

Spanish word(s) of the day:

Have you ever ordered a polish that you didn't really like and when you swatch it or layer it, you fall in love with it like I did?

Alsooo,
It's Friday (woohoo!) , what are your plans?
As always, I gave to work, and I think I will go dusty hunting later.

Sponging

Hello ladies, sorry I've been MIA,but, I'm back. :)
And I have an awesome, well, I think its awesome sponging gradient for you all today. :)
For this, I used:
Nubar- Prize (reddish)
OPI- DS radiance (silver)
China glaze- techno teal(tronica)
Color club- covered in diamonds (can't really see)
Nyc- French White Tip (stamping on accent nail)

I tried to catch the holo-ness but, I couldn't.

Splatter Mani Weekly Challenge (comparison)

Good afternoon! It's Monday and I'm feeling lazy, heck, who am I kidding, I always feel lazy. Ha ha.
Anyways, As some know, I'm in the Facebook group (face and friends) and we have a weekly mani challenge, we have a whole week to come up with a mani. 6 weekly manis are chosen by Jennifer and Ashley and posted in their blog, The Exotic Lacquer. ( http://theexoticlacquer.blogspot.com/2011/07/weekly-challenge.html?showComment=1312233588289#c1210477383620915269) I was lucky enough to win honorable mentions. :) Thank you ladies.
This weeks challenge is SPLATTER! Yay!!! Not. I tried doing the Splatter mani and it was very very unsuccessful. :( But, I sat down lastnight, determined that I would accept it anyway it came out. I've heard different things about straw size and things like that so, I decided to not only do a Splatter mani, but to do a comparison mani, using different straw sizes and different polishes.
*Supplies you will need:
-1 to 100 polishes, it depends on what look you want.
-1 drinking straw. Or coffee stir.
- News Paper.
- Old shirt. (I did somehow manage to get Splatter on my shirt).
- A pair of scissors. (To cut down the straw after every color)

Okay, so, for my manis, I used 3 different straws,
A coffee stir (small), a "margarita" straw (medium), and a large straw (restaurant size).

For my small straw mani, I used:
*OPI- Shorts Story (pink)
*Sally Hansen HD- Cyber (purple)
*Sinful Colors- Rise and Shine (teal)
*Sally Hansen HD- Hue (yellow)

For my medium straw mani, I used:
*Funky Fingers- Kingston (Orange)
*Orly- Purple Crush (pink)
*Nyc- Empire state blue (blue)

milani,

For my larger straw mani, I used:
*Orly- Iron Butterfly (matte,base)
*Milani- Hi-tech (green)
*Milani- Cyberspace ( light blue)
*China Glaze- 3D fantasy (red)
*China Glaze- High Def (darker blue)

Matte, no topcoat.

With shiny topcoat.

Do you see a difference in the splatter effect 3 manis?

Personally, I like the middle mani because of the colors, as far as actually looking like splatted paint, I'll have to go with the first one.
Which do you like best?

Spanish daily word:
Splatter = Salpicar

Thank you. :)

I love your franken mani! (Blueberry clouds) Pic heavy

Hello ladies!
Today I will be putting my spin on the ever popular Franken Friday, mine will be called, "I love your franken mani!"
I will be making a franken and doing a mani with it.
How exciting huh? I know! :)
This will be my longest post about frankening because it is my first post and I want to explain everything I did.
For those who don't know what Frankening is, its a mixture of pigments (even eyeshadow), glitters, and different polishes that you mix yourself. Like DIY with polish. It is very fun and very addictive!

My supplies today were:
*Nyc- skin tight denim creme (15 drops)
*Sally hansen Xtreme wear - Blue me away (1teaspoon)
*Love my nails Chrome - Silver bullet (1/4 teaspoon)
*Love my nails- Milky way (1/4 teaspoon)
*Daisy BBs (2)
* Empty polish bottle (I had to pour an old polish out)
* Jar to pour unwanted polish into,I use an old acetone bottle
(Never pour polish down the drain)
* Napkin, paper towel, old shirt. To protect the table you are working at and to protect your clothes.

Polishes that I used

This is what I use to pour out the polish I am not going to use.

While I was getting the rest of my supplies ready.

After adding a little bit of acetone to the bottle and shaking it up. Always remember to clean the brush and neck of the bottle. Mine was clean with only one time. You might have to clean a bottle more, or less depending in how light or lark the original polish was.

All of the polishes poured into the empty polish bottle.
This is where I add my BBs aka ballz. Then, I shake roll shake! And here is the end result.

Blueberry clouds.

Blueberry clouds swatched. I really like how it turned out.

Now, on to the mani.
Supplies:
*Born pretty plate m02
*Finger Paints- Black expressionism
*China Glaze- High def (Tronica)
*Nicole by OPI- Give me the last dance
* My franken- Blueberry clouds

I did a simple taped mani with a stamp going down the seam.
Be sure to press your tape against your skin to make it less sticky. Using the tape without using this method could rip off your polish.

Then, I removed the tape and stamped the flower design on it from image plate m02 using Nicole by OPI give me the last dance.

What do you think?
Thank you for reading!

Now, I'm off to work.

Nail mail! Yay!

Today, I received some awesome nail mail!
My first Butter London! No more waity, Katie. I never wanted to buy them in store because they are pretty expensive. This one came to me from the wonderful Jessica Kay. Jessica was also nice enough to send me a little gift. California Mango cuticle treatment. Thank you!

In the middle is also another first for me, my very own gLORIous topcoat! From Lori Shadow. I can't wait to use this baby over black (how come I always want to top everything over black? Haha). Thank you.

And lastly, I received nail mail from Traci of The Trace Face Philes. From her, I received Essie funky limelight, China Glaze Electric Pineapple, and ORLY purple crush. :) Thank you so much Traci.
